Goodai Global, backed by a consortium of investors, acquired Serin Company and its K-Beauty brand Round Lab.WHO: Founded in 2017, Serin Company is the cosmetics manufacturer co-founded by Lee Yong-hak and Jung Seo-rin behind the Round Lab brand, famous for its 1025 Dokdo products.Goodai Global was established in 2015 by beauty industry veteran CEO Cheon Joo-hyuk. Its initial acquisition was of Joseon Beauty in 2019, followed by Tirtir, House of Hur, and Craver Corporation.WHY: Goodai Global has been pursuing an acquisition‑led expansion strategy similar to global beauty conglomerates. The roll‑up strategy generally preserves each brand’s concept while centralizing back‑end functions. Goodai is working towards an eventual IPO.DETAILS:  Goodai Global acquired Serin Company from Calypso Capital and Meritz Securities for a reported 800 billion won ($600 million).In 2022, Calypso Capital and Meritz Securities acquired 100% stake in Serin Company for around 230 billion won ($157 million).
